Talent Strategy Business case #2

Global Market Research Business – added 70% value

A fast-growing business created a new Global HR role with the remit to determine the most effective HR strategy to enable the business to meet its strategic goals over the next few years and to deliver it.

Following an initial broad based information-gathering phase with line leaders across the business and referencing key metrics, I developed and then implemented the strategic HR plan with focus on: talent attraction and retention; leadership development; organizational structure; reward & recognition; and HR functional capability and structure.

  • Improved retention rates across the business (voluntary turnover down from 31% to 25%)
  • Reduced productivity ratio from 64% to 57% (EE cost / NR) through improved processes
  • Client feedback scores increased
  • Employee engagement scores increased

My main job was developing talent. I was a gardener providing water and other nourishment to our top 750 people. Of course, I had to pull out some weeds, too.
